Our Beginning
We are a whanau run enterprise that grasped the opportunity to invest in the well being of other Maori and Polynesian peoples living in Australia, via the acquisition of an existing Hangi focused retail business.
We are a whanau proud of both our Anglo-Celtic origins as well as our Maori whakapapa; which combined influences our decision making and is representative of the two perspectives we straddle and the duality of our worldview.
Holistically we position ourselves according to the following sentiments.
The business space, its conventions and the regulations we operate within and according to.
And the Hauora space we cultivate within ourselves which guides our social conscience, our motivations and our purpose to serve and advocate for the preservation of indigenous food practices and cultural liberties.
Our Purpose
Using the acquisition of the Australian side of Kiwi Cookers as a foundation, we have enhanced and re-branded the business using our unique acumen and skills learnt in our previous careers to ensure we can adequately provide the equipment, accessories and resources that allows other people to identify, connect and re-awaken their cultural and indigenous food practices.
Our products are not just intended for use in the present but are manufactured to ensure that they can be re-used almost indefinitely, and will ensure that your whanau can maintain and practice your traditions intergenerationally.

Our range does not just cater to those wanting a portable, timely and convenient solution for preparing Hangi but also includes the baskets, food packaging and handling equipment you need to prepare a traditional ground Hangi.
Our products enable you to not only curate and design your own idea of Hangi perfection, but to also explore other healthy and nutritional methods of catering for large gatherings like smoking, conventional steaming and boiling.
Our products are manufactured to be durable, portable and easy to use.
We use robust stainless steel materials that are easy to clean and maintain for frequent re-use. With durability and convenience at the heart of our designs, they should last many years and are recyclable. Our Hessian covers, sacks and Cotton stockinette’s are all reusable if taken care of and are 100% biodegradable and home compostable once they are no longer fit for purpose.
